once every four years and represents peaceful competition. Having
a long history, the 2010 Olympics is focused on winter activities

around the world will come to the chosen destination, in this
case Whistler BC, and have their best athletes compete against
each other.
The friendly competition is what has helped to
bring peace to the world nations and help these countries learn
more about each others culture and begin to develop long lasting
friendships. Though the 2010 Olympics has not been around that
long, it will be one that will ensure that each representing
country will benefit from the comraderie that they share by
being part of the same planet. Of course the best thing about
2010 Olympics is the fact that we can watch it on TV. Seeing
some of the best athletes compete against each other is one
of the most exciting reality TV shows you can see. And best
thing is that you can watch it free on TV.
When is the 2010 Olympics?
The 2010 Olympics will be held in February 12 – 28 in
Whistler BC. This destination was chosen for the 2010 Olympics
in 2004 and we beat out many countries to get the right to host
the winter olympics in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada.
The winter olympics is always held in February
and is an event that occurs every 4 years. The previous olympics
to 2010 Olympics was the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy (Torino).
The 2006 winter olympics was a very exciting competion and Canada
really shined in many of the competitions. Watching the many
athletes represented by the many visiting countries in the olympics
is what it is all about.
What activities will the 2010 Olympics have?
There will be many different winter activities to watch in the
2010 Olympics and it will be an exciting competion. If you enjoy
watching Ice Hockey then you must tune in for the 2010 Olympics
in Whistler BC. The leading Ice Hockey teams and the players
from the NHL will be representing their respective countries
to compete for the gold medal and the honor of their country.
You will see Sweden, Russia, Finland, USA, and of course Canada
play their best hockey ever. Another Canadian favorite is skiing
and the 2010 Olympics is the only place to watch this competition.
The favorites will be the Europeans but also Australia is making
some good improvements in their winter atheletes skills. The
greatest thing about 2010 Olympics competitions is that you
really don’t know who will get the gold medal. It can
really be any country as all the athletes are competing at their
best and the times are usually down to the last millisecond
to determine the winner and the losers. Another activity is
curling and this sport is starting to really get competitive.
The growing popularity of curling has lead to the increased
skill level of the athletes who are showing some amazing skill
in their strategy and execution.
What countries will be represented at the
2010 Olympics?
Many countries will be represented in the 2010 Olympics and
there will be some great competition to watch. You will see
most of the European countries in the 2010 Olympics as they
are the ones that excel in most of the winter Olympics activities.
The favorites to watch for Ice Hockey are Sweden, Finland, and
Russia. The favorites to watch for skiing are Germany, Austria,
Switzerland, and France. There will be many Asian coutries represented

in nearly all of the winter activities and they will move the
competition up a notch every new Olympics. It is for this reason
that all athletes around the world are constantly improving
themselves as the 4 year timespan in-between the winter olympics
is really not that long of a time. Another strong competitor
is Japan and they have dominated in skiing and skating. The
Japanese are lean and strong which make them ideal for many
of the 2010 Olympics sports. Of course there will be the host
country of Canada which is a strong favorite in all the different
sports and activities. One of the best sports to watch for Canada
is skating as we have some of the best and quickest athletes
in the world.
How will the 2010 Olympics compare to the 2006 Olympics?
The real question is will the 2010 Olympics be able to compete
with the 2006 Olympics? The answer is a definite yes as the
2010 Olympics is already being planned as we write this article
and there are a lot of people who will ensure this will be a
success. Being able to learn from the past is a valuable part
of the Olympic committee for Whistler and they have been watching
the Torino winter olympics very closely. There were many people
who will be running the 2010 Olympics present in Turin and getting
a birdseye view of the operation and interviewing the participants.
The improvements happening in Vancouver and Whistler to prepare
for a successful 2010 Olympics include an expanded highway system
and a new rapid transit system linking the airport to downtown
Vancouver. The expanded highway system, known as the Sea to
Sky highway, will provide double the capacity of the current
highway and will be a very safe and quick way to reach Whistler
BC.
