What do I need to learn Whistler biking skills
and what should I bring?
Always be prepared on your Whistler biking adventures! Although
the mountain is known for its cold snowy activities in the winter,
the same mountain is the opposite in the summer with temperatures
reaching well over 30C it’s sure to make your Whistler
bike adventure dangerous if not properly prepared! Although
Whistler biking is a downhill sport it is still an exhausting
exercise especially when combined with the dehydrating heat
of the summer. Things to bring along when on a Whistler bike
adventure include plenty of water or sport drink, a small first
aid kit (band aids, map of area, etc), tire repair kit and a
snack or power bar. Even before embarking upon your day of Whistler
biking, be sure to do a thorough safety check of the bike especially
your brakes and brake pads. If you do pause for a snack break
from your exciting day of Whistler biking do not forget where
you are and be aware of the environment and leave it the way
you found it – take all garbage or waste with you so others
can continue to enjoy the outdoor wilderness for years to come.
Indeterminate of your skills there is sure to be a Whistler
bike trail to match your desire for adrenaline pumping thrills
or a leisurely slower paced sight seeing descend down one of
the over 200 trails. The Whistler bike trails are rated in the
same manner as Whistler ski runs – green circle for the

diamond (maybe even double black diamond) for the pure adrenaline
rush of jumps and steep verticals!
